About Me

I hold a master’s degree in Elementary Education and have experience working with children in supportive learning environments. I also maintain current child abuse and criminal background clearances, as providing families with safe, professional instruction is extremely important to me.

My approach to reading instruction is rooted in explicit, phonics-based teaching. I strongly believe that when children understand how sounds connect to letters and spelling patterns, they gain the tools they need to decode words independently. Building these foundational skills allows students to improve fluency, strengthen comprehension, and grow in confidence as readers.

Reading challenges can affect a child’s self-esteem as much as their academic progress. My goal is to provide structured, focused instruction in a calm and encouraging environment where children feel supported while making meaningful progress. Whether in small summer reading groups or individualized tutoring sessions, I aim to help students build strong reading skills that last.
