Benefits
Small Groups
Small group instruction allows children to receive focused support in a calm, structured environment. With groups capped at six students, each child has meaningful opportunities to practice decoding skills and build confidence using a strong phonics-based approach. Summer sessions will be held twice weekly for six weeks at a local public library, offering an affordable option for families while providing the consistent practice needed to make real progress.
Evidence-Based
Reading instruction is grounded in a structured literacy approach that emphasizes explicit phonics instruction. When children understand how sounds connect to letters and patterns, they gain the ability to independently “sound out” unfamiliar words — a foundational skill that supports fluency and comprehension. From simple three-letter words to more complex patterns, systematic phonics instruction builds the framework for lasting reading success.
Personalized Support
Each child will participate in a brief initial assessment prior to the start of the group to identify current phonemic awareness skills and specific areas of strength and need. This allows instruction to be purposeful and targeted from the very beginning. By understanding where each student is starting, sessions can be structured to support steady and measurable growth.
